Model Parliament Terms and Conditions

Purpose of terms and conditions
The purpose of Model Parliament having terms and conditions is to ensure a fun and, most importantly, a safe event for all of its participants. For such a large event that has numerous events, varying from bar nights to sitting in Canada’s Lower Chamber, it is essential that the safety of Model Parliaments participants take precedence. It is imperative that the core values of Model Parliament, fun, learning, and procedure, are not tarnished by the acts listed below. If anyone is caught perpetrating these acts listed below they will be penalized, banned from certain events, banned from the event as a whole with no refund, and, in severe cases, banned from Model Parliament as well as all future Model Parliaments. When a Participant registers to the event, they are automatically agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
Photography and Video Consent/Decorum
Inappropriate Photography/Video is not permitted in the MPSP community/mediasphere and can result in consequences for the perpetrating actor/s. Photography/Video from MPSP events can be used for promotional or other committee related purposes, although if a participant is strongly opposed to being in committee related material they are to notify the Committee/Governor General.
Bullying
Bullying of any kind, whether it be verbally, physically, or through social media, will not be tolerated within the Model Parliament community in any shape, way, or form. Bullying only acts to make members of Model Parliament feel alienated and takes away from the enjoyment of the event.
Discrimination
Discrimination based on race, language, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sexe, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, genetic characteristics, etc. is not tolerated in any shape, way, or form within the event. Acts of discrimination make participants feel marginalized based on their identifiers within Model Parliament, and that is unacceptable.
Social Media Decorum
Although MPSP and AÉÉIPPSSA cannot formally monitor or remove social media posts pertaining to MPSP, it is our responsibility to keep our participants safe especially regarding our online presence. That being said if a participant posts, messages, tweets, etc. something inappropriate or without the permission of those in the social media post it can result in consequences for the perpetrating member.
Harassement and Sexual Harassement
Harassment and Sexual Harassment in any shape, way, or form, is not tolerated within the event and will result in severe consequences. The Model Parliament community should be a safe and welcoming space which means it has no place for harassment of any sort.
Consequences
If anyone is caught perpetrating these acts listed above, they will be penalized by: being banned from certain events, being banned from the event as a whole with no refund, and, in severe cases, being banned from Model Parliament as well as all future Model Parliaments. When a Participant buys a ticket they are automatically agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
